Do Densities And Infiltrates In The Upper Lobe Of The Lung Indicate PTB?
doc i was diagnose for ptb last year and completed my treatment for six months my doctor give me the clearance and said i am free from it but only last week we have medical examination in a company where i work and the result writen there is infiltrates, right upper lobe; densities, left upper lobe... and it says it is PTB my question is is it posible that it is only a scar they ve just seen?
The changes in the upper lobe in the recent x-ray can be due to a reactivation of a TB infection or can be the scaring tissue from the infection you had previously.
The best way to know this is to compare the follow-up x-rays you had while you were finishing the treatment for TB with the recent x-ray. Comparing these scans will help determine if there are any new findings, which would lead to the diagnosis of recurrent TB.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
