Do Depo Shots Lead To Headaches?

Hi I'm nicole and I've been on my depo shot since I had my daughter in 2006 I take a break from the shot 1 a year. So now my next injectio was due between june 20th thru july 6. And I'm just waiting to start my cycle again ?! I've been having headaches and drowsiness and back pain what could this be?!

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these headaches and drowsiness. You have not had the depo shots already and it will be very unlikely that this is what is causing the headaches. also, you had taken this drug in the past and never reported this side effect. I will suggest that you take Paracetamol and Ibuprofen as recommended by your pharmacist for this headache. Should the symptoms persist, please get evaluated by your doctor for other causes of headache like migraines, cluster, tension, etc.
