Do Diarrhea, Vomiting And Abdominal Pain, Post Eating A Hamburger, Require Medical Intervention?
i am sick 3 hours after eating hamburger. I have watery diarrhea, vomiting and severe pain in the abdomen, no fever. I am 63 years old, female. Ecoli is my thought, do I need to go to a doctor? YYYY@YYYY
Hi, thank you for your question. Well, E-coli infection usually takes much longer than that (usually days) to cause diarrhea. So, it can't be E-coli. But it can be food poisoning caused by toxins produced by Staphylococcus aureus. Which is also not good to have. There might be a chance that it's simply an osmotic diarrhea caused by some of the ingredients of the hamburger, but you surely can't risk a staph toxin, therefore, yes! you should see a doctor to be on the safe side. Kindly rate me if you like my answer :)
