Hi..
Thanks for writing to us..
Yes, your symptoms are suggestive of oral thrush that is a
fungal infection caused by Candida Albicans fungi..
Oral Thrush is one of the most common cause for dry mouth and redness of tongue is due to infection causing inflammation..
So my suggestion to you is to consult an Oral Physician and get a clinical examination done..
If thrush is confirmed that looks to be most expected cause then you can start antifungal therapy in the form of antifungal mouthwash like Nystatin, suck
clotrimazole lozenges that has both local and systemic effects and along with it oral intake of antifungal medicine like
Itraconazole or
Fluconazole..
Also take plenty of probiotics like Yogurt and garlic and probiotic supplements as
Lactobacillus acidophillus that helps in retaining good bacteria which help in fighting against infection.,
As the infection will subside the dry mouth and redness will reduce on its own but to relieve the symptoms right now you can start chewing sugar free chewing gums, use oral lubricants like Oralgel and gargle with biotene mouthwash..
Hope you get better soon..
Regards.
