Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Do Flank Pain, Blood In Urine And Frequent Urination Cause Kidney Problem?
I m having severe flank pain on my left side and am experiencing frequent urge to urinate even though when I go it s a small amount and it causes intense pain in my groin and has some blood that can be seen on toilet paper. Is it okay to wait until tomorrow and go to my urologist or should I go to the ER?
Hi, I have read your question and understand your concerns. Thank you for posting in HCM. Difficulty in urination, burning sensation and increased frequency along with blood I.e haematuria can be symptoms of Urinary tract infection. If a patient comes to me with such complaints I suggest some lab investigations that include complete blood picture, Urine Routine Examination and culture sensitivity test. Before starting antibiotics, one should send urine for R/E and C/S. For pain I suggest my patients to drink plenty of fluids as well as cranberry juice. Wish you good health.
