Do Headache, Face And Low Back Pain Indicate Bacterial Meningitis?
My daughter 27 years old, started feeling really bad really quickly on Saturday, 3 days ago. Extremely bad headache and lower back ache. She said her face hurt so badly it felt like it was broken. She finally went to the doctor ( after hours clinic) today and blood work showed a bacterial infection. He gave her an antibiotic (Doxycycline) and an antibiotic shot. He told her to go to her family doctor Wed for another antibiotic shot, that it was very important. He said she was highly contagious and to be careful about being around her 2 little girls. Could this be meningitis?
Headache face pain can suggest any infection. If fever persists with neck stiffness then visit the doctor and get a lumbar puncture done to rule out meningitis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
