Do Hot And Cold Compresses Help In Triggering The Healing Process Of A Wound?
If one has a wound, scrape or deep scratch which has been cleaned very well and kept clean but it appears that cellulitis is developing ----- is increased circulation such as very warm wet compresses (et cetra) for say 20 to 25 minute periods during the day helpful in speeding up healing???
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain it seems that you have an infection in the wound or scratch area that is leading to symptoms of Cellulitis and although doing warm and cool compresses will help in relieving but it is alone not enough.. You should consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation will help in checking for the spread of infection.. You can be advised to take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and Metronidazole and also anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. This can be followed by cool compresses in the area as it will help in reducing inflammation and healing faster.. A proper care and medication should be taken immediately as the infection can spread to deeper tissues and can become painful as well as will take a longer time to resolve..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
