Do I Need Rabies Vaccine Post Dog Bite In-spite Of Having It Previously?
Sir i got my rabies shot last year... On 24-8-2014... Now i have recently bitten by a stray dog... Its a superficial wound.. I washed it with soap and dettol water and then i applied betadine with bandage on the affected area... So now should i go again for rabies shots??? Plz reply

Yes, you need to take 2 booster doses of the anti rabies vaccine.
Since you have previously received a complete series of rabies vaccine last year and now bitten again by a stray dog, you should receive 2 booster doses of vaccine. Ideally, the first dose should be administered on the day of exposure and the second 3 days later.
You should also take a shot of tetanus toxoid if not immunized in previous 5 years.
