Do Injections In C4/5 Region Of The Neck Cause Side Effects?
My wife has been receiving pain injections in her C4/5 region of her neck for a couple of years. I suspect a degenerated disc whereby the injections are simply enabling her further damage. I asked her to get with a orthopedic Dr. and she resists it. What kind of trouble is she setting herself up for?
Local anesthesia or analgesia is a proven modality to control unbearable pain or those which is not responding to usual medications. So far as the side effects are concerned, that depends upon the dose and molecule used for this purpose, however, common ones are tingling, numbness over the area can be usual in most of the drugs. The further damage is being concern with current drugs or underlying degenerative pathology is not clearly mentioned and would be answered during follow up chat after clarification.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
