I have two grandchildren ages 4 and 2 1/2. Their mother will not have them get a flu shot because she says they could just as easily die from a flu shot as the flu itself. I am very worried about my grandchildren and I feel they should get a flu shot.
There are many misconceptions about the flu shot. It is recommended for children 6 months of age and higher every year, unless they have a specific medical reason not to have the flu shot. The Flu shot does not contain the whole virus and therefore can not actually cause the flu. Sometimes there are side effects from the shots which your daughter can review with her pediatrician.
