Do Medications For Diabetes Cause Nausea And Vomiting Post Food Intake?
My husband has type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, severe asthma, high blood pressure and depression as well as ADHD. he takes many medications. he is 69. he has been becoming progressively more affected by eating breakfast and lunch, experiencing nausea and vomiting (sometimes) after each of these meals but he is able to digest dinner with no serious difficulties. his endocrinologists and nutritionists claim it has nothing to do with his diabetes medications but i think this must be untrue
These symptoms can be caused by one particular diabetes medicine that is Metformin so if he is taking that may need to be looked into to be replaced. Meanwhile using antacids like omerperazole before meals along with motility agents like domperidone may be helpful.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
