Do Melted Plastic On Food Cause Adverse Side Effects?
So I was cooking some chicken in the oven, and foolishly left a plastic cover for the pan (used to cover left overs, not cook) on while in the oven. When I checked the half way mark for the chicken, the plastic cover had melted, and collapsed down over the chicken, however appeared to not be touching it. With the plastic removed, and a new pan, is it safe to continue cooking and eating of my potentially tasty meal ? Or are the fumes of the melted plastic an issue ? It does smell distinctly gross

Do Melted Plastic On Food Cause Adverse Side Effects?
Hello, If you were able to remove all the plastic from the chicken and it tastes good (normal), I think there is nothing to worry about. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
