Do Missed Synthyroid Tablets Cause Any Adverse Side Effects?

I lost my prescription for my synthroid which i take everyday early in the morning. I just found it. should i take it now or wait until morning when my next dose is due? what side effects should i expect for missing a dose since i have been on it since 2009 and never missed a dose?
