Hi, i had ultrasound scanning today. It was shocking news for me that the report shows that i have twins in a single sac without membrane. One baby is 11 weeks 6 days and other one at 12 weeks. I saw reviews in Internet regarding MoMo twins, and the success rate is very less. Can you please suggest me on this?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Pregnancy with Monochorionic moniamniotic twins is a complicated pregnancy. There are fetal complications like increased incidence of congenital anomalies, sudden intrauterine death of one or both the twins due to cord entanglement. Such pregnancy should be closely followed up with 2-3 weekly ultrasound to assess the growth and well being of the twins. Moreover, caesarean section should be done at 34 weeks of pregnancy to salvage the twins, earlier caesarean section can be done in case of emergency. I would suggest you to consult a fetal medicine specialist so that a detailed anomaly ultrasound is done at 18 -20 weeks of pregnancy and further management should be done accordingly.
