Do My Symptoms Indicate Arthritis Or Radiculopathy?
I have degenerative disc disease involving S1 And the two lumbar vertebrae above ie three together all dissolved. I have a lot of stiffness with some arthritis and my outer toes have some numbness All labs are normal but the numbness is bothersome. I get cramping in my feet as well . I ve had MRI they see the disc problem but they don t see pinching of the larger nerves so they said there s no surgical solution I even had a nerve study very painful but they said results were normal. There best guess is arthritis and radiculopatby
* As the intensity of pain is severe, there is definite underlying compression of the supplying nerves at the spinal cord level.
I would like to address in detail with the latest MRI report of the lower spine if available with you.
For a time being approach, assisted physiotherapy with prescription of medications such as tramadol hydrochloride and gabapentin would help great relief for radiculopathy pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
