Do Persons With Same Blood Group Have Parenthood Problems?

My blood group is B+. Can I marry a girl with the same blood group: B+? Dear Sir,  I have a question to ask regarding compatibility of blood groups in marriage. My blood group is B+. Can I get married to a girl whose blood group is B+?  Will it cause problem for child birth? Kindly answer my question?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, yes you can marry a girl with the same blood group and there are not any issues related to that.

The problem you are likely referring to is ABO incompatibly which occurs in mother's and fetus incompatibility and not in same blood group but between positive and negative blood groups and that too has got a solution in form of injections available to control that.

You should better focus on getting thalesemia profile or HB electrophoresis of both done if you are concerned as that can be one of the potential problems in parenthood that can transmit thalesemia major in the next generation.
