Do Probiotics Cause Abdominal Pain?

I was taking porbiotics for IBS for about 6 months now. I recently ran out of my pills and have not gotten any more yet. However since I have not been taking them I have noticed that I am having some stomach cramping and slight pain. Is this normal

Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health problems.

No probiotics can not cause pain.
These are nothing but the bacteria which usually are colonized in our gut to maintain normal gut environment and digestion as well. If you are having abdominal pain after stopping it, that means pathogenic bacteria overrides normal colonized bacteria and causing indigestion (IBS).
I suggest you should consult surgeon to get proper treatment for IBS, instead regularly taking probiotics.
