Do Side Effects Still Persist After Stopping Boniva And Actonel?

I have taken both Boniva and Actonel. I haven t taken them for a few years. Do side effects still persist after stopping the drugs? I have trouble opening my mouth very wide sometimes and I wondered if this was a side effect from taking the drugs.

Hi and thank you so much fr this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty opening your mouth. it is very unlikely for this to have been caused by either of these medications as this is not a commonly reported side effect. This is even more likely given the persistence of symptoms up to 2years after stopping the drugs. I will suggest that you get evaluated for this difficulty opening your mouth and managed accordingly.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
Thanks.
