Do Slurred Speech And Swallowing Difficulty Lead To Facial Paralysis?
For 1 month now I have started slurring my speech and it hard for people to understand what I am saying. Sometimes it hard to for a sentence...Another symptom I am having is it is very hard to swallow and at times when I am drinking my water or tea, it seeps out of the side of my lips
Hello thank you for writing us here. Its called Bell's palsy. Its the partial paralysis actually of the facial nerve which results in slurring of speech and difficulty in swallowing. Its more likely an upper motor neuron lesion. I would suggest you to go for a checkup and you'll either be provided with medications or some exercises. It would be alright in 3 to 4 weeks. God bless you
Best regards, Dr Gunjan
