Do Soreness And Radiating Pain In Thumb Indicate Fracture Or Sprain?

Hi, I injured my thumb about a month ago and it was swollen, bruised and was in a lot of pain. I did not have full range of motion. Now, it is still sore and it is radiating pain. Could it have been fractured or sprained and did not get the proper treatment? Advice?

Thank you for sharing your query on Healthcaremagic, I have carefully worked through your case and I you probably got a fracture because 1 month later you continued with acute symptoms, I advice you go to the doctor for an evaluation and X-rays at this moment I advice you use a brace to keep your thumb immobile an ice bag every 3 hours per 30 minutes and take some anti-inflammatory/pain killers OTC 2-3 times a day those can help you to minimize the symptoms avoiding complications and go to the doctor, Take care.I hope that my advice has been helpful, regards
