Do Swallowing Pond Water Pneumonia Or Waterborne Deceases
My 3 yr old fell in a landscaping pond at our neighbour s house 4 days ago. He swallowed some water & coughed/burped it up. He now has a fever of 102.9, down to 101 with meds. No other symptoms that I can figure out. Should I worry about pneumonia or some other associated infection?
Hello, I can understand your concern. The pond water might contain micro organism which lead to infections in throat and lungs. If the child has only fever doesnt look weak lethargic, doesnt have breathless ness there is no need to worry. Continue paractamol for fever. Salt water gargles with luke warm water would help. If the symptoms donot subside Syp augmentin 5ml thres times a day for five days is advised and a chest xray to rule out pneumonia. Hope you are satisfied with the response. Thanks for choosing HCM
