Hello
As diagnosis is established , so deal according to the situation .
Your patient ( friend ) is having swelling on the face and also bluish discoloration twice in day .
The main characteristic feature if
HIV infection is erythematous maculopapular rashes on the face and mucocutaneous ulceration on the tongue and in the mouth .
Since rashes is common but swelling on the face may be due to
anemia or some other opportunistic .
Hypoproteinaemia may be the another cause of such swelling. I recommend , please get in
serum creatinine level as well as urine culture and sensitivity test to rule out any
kidney involvement .
As you know the diagnosis , so what had happened ,has happened .
Consult a physician and get his opinion and antiretoviral treatment .
As I have noted that , now a day prognosis ( life expectancy ) in HIV IS VERY GOOD and patient can survive at least 20-30 years Provided good treatment , diet and up to date monitors of CD4+ T cell count.
Measurement of plasma HIV
RNA levels should be made at the time of HIV diagnosis and every 3-4 months there after in untreated and treated cases.
Patient with CD4+
T cell counts
So regular monitor of CD4+T cell counts and HIV R NA is an important tool in the management of HIV INFECTION TREATMENT .
Hope this will help you.
Good luck.
