Do Tanning Beds Pose Any Threat To Pacemakers?

I got Psoriasis all over my Body except my Face and Scalp, Dermatologist suggested using the Tanningbed. I also have a Pacemaker . Also will be placed on Methotraxate Tablet after Bloodwork is done. Worrying about using Tanningbed with Pacemaker and also Methotraxate Tablets, Sideaffects.

Hi,

Firstly a low-intensity tanning bed should be used. Tanning beds use ultraviolet radiations that increase the chances of skin cancer.

Also, the pacemaker scar may darken more on exposure to tanning bed though pacemaker will not directly interfere with the tanning bed.

Kindly consult your doctor to weigh the pros and cons of using a tanning bed for psoriasis treatment.
