Do These X-ray Results Necessitate Further Treatment?
My child is 6 years, his x ray showed exaggeration in the bronchovascular marking at both perihilar zone and middle 3rd of right lung. It says: Could be due to bronchopneumonia. My question: Is this serious? How could it be treated, home or hosoutal admission, and how long for full recovery? How could this affect his health for his entire life. Thanks
According to the above X-ray reports, your kid has increased bronchovascular markings. That means the fluid level in his lungs have been increased. This is a common finding after an episode of pneumonia or respiratory tract infection. You don't need to worry regarding this and the X-ray finding revert to normal with in a couple of weeks. There is no need for hospitalization and it will not affect him in future. If he still have signs of infection like fever and cough please consult a pediatrician.
Hope this information helps. With regards Dr.Shinas Hussain
