Hi my name is Jocelyn post menopause for 3 more than yrs now. Just yesterday i exp bleeding and now spotting. I went for the U/S and waiting for the result. I have 2 fibroids and bulky uterus. Is there any chance that the reasons for this bleeding episode is due to my fibroids? What is the next step after the ultrasound?
Hello dear I understand your concern Yes fibroid can cause heavy bleeding in the post menopausal stage. It affect the uterine lining and blood vessels can cause the heavy bleeding. Other causes should be rule out like polyp, endometrial and cervix dysplasia. Progesterone and birth control pill can be used to reduce the bleeding and for regression the fibroid. If fibroid cause heavy bleeding and pain frequently then it should be removed by the surgical treatment. Hope this may help you
