Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I found out that I have uterine fibroids when I was pregnant with my first baby 2 months later in December I had a miscarriage I had a D&C and I ve had regular cycles since the bleeding from the D&C stopped and here I am in April and my cycle is 23 days late but all 5 of the home pregnancy tests I ve taken have been negative could the fibroids be causing a negative pregnancy test result
Uterine abnormalities, such as fibroids that indent the endometrial cavity and endometrial polyps, can impair how the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) and embryo interact to lower implantation and pregnancy rates. A fibroid that pushes into the endometrial cavity within the uterine lining can have an adverse effect on fertility,” if there’s a fibroid that’s larger than 3 cm in size in the wall of the uterus, it’s likely that it will interfere as well because it’s pressing on where the embryo would grow. If a woman has a fibroid that grows outside the uterus and gets pregnant—they will usually do just fine.
