Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
can adhd / Adderall and sertraline cause constipation? my daughter has taken this for an extended amount of time and is now having trouble being constipated and not being able to go without use of a natural laxative (apple cider vinegar in juice 1-2 times a week
Both Adderall and sertraline can sometimes cause constipation, so I think it would be reasonable to suspect they could be at least partially responsible for your daughter's constipation.
If it is just mild, it may be easier just to keep her on the natural laxatives, or occasionally use something like Miralax to keep her regular.
But if it were to become severe, changing medications might need to be considered.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
