Does Adrenal Insufficiency Causes Hypothyroid ?
I would really appreciate your opinion on the following. I have been ill for a couple of months, all symptoms of Adrenal Insufficiency and have lost 15 lbs. Endocronologist is going w/ Hypothyroid and has prescribed me Synthroid and says i don t have Adrenal Insufficiency. I want a second opinion. Lab results showed perimenopausal at age 38, have been underweight all my life and my body can t handle any stress at all any more. This is my info and lab results , age 42, 5 9 and current weight is 114 lbs. Test results out of range ; Adrenal antibody is positive, Adrenal AB titer is 1:20, ACTH , plasma is 115, Cortisol is 25.1, Thyroid peroxidase antibodies is 434, TSH 3rd gen is 6.83, all of the above were high and Globulin is low at 2.1. I have read that an Adrenal disorder should be dealt with prior to the Thyroid disorder and that Adrenal Insufficiency can cause the Hypothyroid results.

read your prob, the symptoms of adrenal insufficiency are hypoglycemia, low blood pressure, muscles fatigue n muscles ach depression. in this condition (any type of ) cortisol leval become low n hyperthyroidism occur not hypothyroidism. low globulin is not an indicator so first you have to rule out low leval of globulin eighter this is due to renal or liver disorder or low intake of protine. so you should get renal nkiver profil n complete urine analysis. for rule out adrenal disorder you should get serum electrolytes Ct abdomen also.
