Does Amlodipine Cause Any Side Effects?

I been having high blood pressure for a few weeks now. i have had my blood work done twice, EKG twice and everything seems to be okay. i am 26 year old male, i am on metoprolol in the morning and amlodipine. i get random headaches everyday and at night after taking amlodipine my head and ears feel like they are on fire.

I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician I would like to tell you that Amlodipine is in a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. Amlodipine relaxes (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Also Amlodipine has many side effects like edema, fatigue, palpitations, and flushing.

So, the side effects you are experiencing are must be due to this drug. So, I advise to you that you should visit your physician, tell him about your symptoms and get another drug prescribed for you.
