Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sir, I am taking Amlodipine 5mg tablet since march 2017. Earlier from December 2016 till February 2017 , I took Amlodipine 2.5 mg. In an ultrasound done in June 2017 I was diagnosed with kidney stones of 4mm in both the kidneys. Can Amlodipine be a cause for these stones??? I have also consumed Rebepeazole 20 between Jan and April 2017, sometimes BD and sometimes OD. Pls reply.
dear Please be assured that amlodipine cannot be related to kidney stones. Yes prolonged use of proto pump inhibitors or rabeprazole might have some relation with ph changes and digestion in our body. mean while being hypertensive please add sufficient quantity of fluids inyour diet to avoid repeated stone formation. hope this helps most welcome for further queries
