Does Azithromycin Cause Mitochondrial Damage?

My son has had a severe problem with Levaquin (flouroquinalone) side effects. A doctor once told him to avoid azithromycin because it was a cousin , that is, it works in the same way damaging mitochondria. The doctor he saw most recently walked out on me when I mentioned it. Can you give me any information about that?

No, it does not cause any damage so relax and take prescribed dose only. Don't exceed two tablet per day.
