hi! I got bell's palsy second time 4 months ago now it is almost recovered i can say upto 90% only thing which is remaining i cannot whisle or circle my lips, well i want to know during this i kissed my girl friend so many times so can you tell me does bell's palsy will spread while kissing or having sex
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Bell's Palsy also known as Facial Nerve Palsy can occur due to Paralysis of seventh cranial nerve and the causes can be viral infection, trauma to the nerve or compression of the nerve with some tumour or large artery.. Other causes will not be communicated while kissing but in case if there is viral infection to be the cause of bell's palsy it can be communicated from one person to another and can cause infection of the nerve and symptoms of bell's palsy.. So in case if at all your girlfriend is infected she can transfer the virus while kissing but in case if she is not there is a possibility that you get flare up of symptoms when the viral count increases as virus can stay dormant in nerve cells and can reactivate in low immunity conditions.. Long duration therapy of anti-viral medications can help if virus is the cause.. So better get checked for the cause of facial palsy in your case and get treated accordingly by a Neurophysician..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
