Can benodryl cause you to have yeast infections? I take two gell pills of benodryl (25 mgs each) total all in all 50 mgs a night... Started taking benodryl about a week and ahalf ago/ possibly teo weeks ago. On the 25th of last month, i had three teeth pulled, the dentist put me on ibuprofen 600 mgs and clindamycin 150 mgs. The on the 31st on last month, i had arm surgery. The dr. Put me on stool softners and perks 5-325s. So im pretty dented up. Lol. Im thinking it was the clinamyvin that caused me to have a yeast infection. But also had a thought that i might be benodryl. Could you help me out? Thx in advance! !
None of the medication you mentioned is responsible for provocating or causing yeast infection. Benadryl is antihistamine medication used to treat allergies.
Ibuprofen is painkiller (NSAIDS group) which has anti-inflammatory properties. Clindamycin itself is antibiotic used to treat infection in body.
None can cause decrease in immunity, which to some extent can facilitate fungal (yeast) infection. It is your dental procedure which opens the cavity for the bacterial or fungal growth. So, consult your treating dentist and ask to treat it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
