Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my baby is 2 yr old and he has worms in stomach . Some body suggest me to give bender syrup for worms but I read the side effects of this medicine . I m little bit comfused about that. I m very much worried about my son he is not eaten food properly and he is week .
First, should make sure that your 2 yr old is having stomach worms for real. So, should run a microscopic examination of stool for ova/parasites (3 consecutive days-bowel movements).
Then can treat it as per lab results comparing with the clinical presentation of your baby.
I think the right name of the syrup suggested is Zentel (albendazole). Yes, we can prescribe it but after making sure your baby is having worms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
