Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m trying to find out if Benlysta can cause Pancreas. If it does, do I need to contact the company to report my issues? I was on Benlysta from July 2011 until January 2014. I had to stop treatment because I had a mass in the pancreas. In March 2014, I had a distal pancreatectomy with spleenectomy. I have a new spot on the pancreas that the doctors are keeping an eye on. I also had interstitial fibrosis in the pancreas. I was hypoglycemic before surgery and I m currently taking Invokana twice a day, Metformin 1-2 twice a day and sliding scale Novalog. The doctors haven t let me resume the Benlysta infusions and I saw on Medsfact.com that there could be possibly related to Benlysta. Any additional information would be helpful.

it has side effects but most of them relate to reduced immunity.
to my knowledge there is no such observation yet reported which pertains to the observation you have made. since you have now a co morbidity and more chances of more severe side effects of the drug its possible it is now not recommended for use by you.
