Hi,
Botox injection is used to reduce facial wrinkles,
cervical dystonia or neck spasms, spasticity, eye disorders, hyperhidrosis or
excessive sweating,
overactive bladder,
urinary incontinence etc. It is also used for chronic migraines. Symptoms associated with flu like symptoms like nausea, fever, myalgia etc., have been noticed after taking Botox injection and these symptoms may last a few hours to a few days. Again, according to your
neurologist, headache may be resulted from migraine.
Again after taking Botox injection, about one percentage of patients may suffer from headaches according to a 2001 study. Botox induced headache may persist for two weeks to one month. If nausea and headache last for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor first for further medical evaluation and treatment purposes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician
