1. Longifene [Buclizine] is an
anticholinergic and antihistaminic used for treating/managing acute
migraine pain/
urticaria but also used as appetite stimulant and does cause psychomotor impairment and sleepiness.
2. Appetite stimulants are never a management option and before the drug can be used as an appetite stimulant studies from large-scale multicentric randomized controlled clinical trials are needed
3. One has to address the underlying cause and thereafter symptom management,
palliative care, or supportive care—is an important part of management and treatment.
. Good food rich in proteins
. Regular gradually increased exercise.
. Anabolic
steroids and Tonics
. Light exercise, such as a 20-minute walk, about an hour before meals to stimulate your appetite. [also maintain muscle mass]
. Consult a registered dietitian for additional advice on meal planning.
PS. Tonics & Injections alone are not going to help gain weight, good food & exercise must accompany the medicines for a substantial gain in weight (if investigation comes normal)
