Does CT Scan Cause Any Brain Damage?

Hi, I just had a ct scan today to check if I had any symptoms of traumatic brain injury. It turned out that I didn't, but while I was in the scanner I felt a slight "frying" sensation towards the outer surfaces of my brain. So do ct scans cause any form of permanent brain damage?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

A single CT scan will not cause any significant damage to you. It ,may be harmful to get 3 CT scans done in children below 15 years of age. The frying sensation in your brain might be a result of the head injury sustained earlier. There is no possibility of anyone experiencing symptoms reported by you due to the CT scanner. Please do not worry.
