Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father has been suffereing from irregular hearbeats since december, has undergone angio but the reports are normal. He has been taking capaltin 40 mg thrice daily. But many a times he starts feeling weak. can u suggest it is because of any side effects of the drug he is using.
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query I appreciate your concern for your father's health. Calaptin is Verapamil the main side effects of which are constipation, headache, dizziness or a low BP. If your father is an anxious person or consumes caffeine rich beverages that may be the cause of his irregular heart beat as his tests were normal. Feeling weak can be psychological or due to a number of factors. If it is persistent and constant, it would be good to see an internist and have a general check up.
If you have more queries, i am available Wish your father good health, Dr. Noble Zachariah
