Sir my father have some heart problem LVEF 40% is this major problem I again test echo after 6 month his LVEF remain same as 40% his liver test report normal all other are normal but they told they have weakness they decrses weight from 105 to 80 is there any problem.
LVEF 40% is below normal level. Normal value is 55 – 70%. LVEF indicates the functioning of heart. A low value means heart in not pumping blood properly leading to heart failure. Weakness is mostly due to low LVEF because heart in not meeting body demands. There are many causes of heart failure. Causes need to be investigated by physical examination of body and further investigations. How much is your blood pressure?? You can get some basic investigations for causes of low LVEF. Advice 1. Consult a cardiologist for physical examination and diagnosis 2. Check your blood pressure 3. Investigations a. Hemoglobin% b. ECG c. Chest X – ray PA view e.
