Does Cardizem CD Cause Hypotension Or Stroke?
I am a Pediatrician on Cardizem CD and had a stroke. My only risk factor is my being 81 y/o. I was placed on this for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and developed hypotension. Is there an associated relationship of Cardizem CD causing hypotension/stroke? PS: The Cardizem was D/C d. I have always been normotensive, have never smoked, consumed alcohol only on social occasions, never overweight, and excercise regularly. No family hx of stroke.

Regarding whether cardizem causes Hypotension and stroke I would say yes it does this occur when taken for long duration or overdose
