Does Carvedilol Cause Hives All Over The Body?

I ve been taking carvedilol for high blood pressure for several years. A few weeks after a mild stroke and some medication changes, I developed hives which do not go away. I have tried eliminating each medication for a day to see if any had an affect on the hives. Doesn t seem so. Can the carvedilol have supressed my adrenaline levels creating the hives - going on now for 3 weeks.

Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Carvedilol can cause hives all over the body in case of an allergic reaction.
I suggest you to take antihisamines daily and use calmine lotion for local relief.
If you do not get better you should take prescribed corticosteroids from your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
