Does Cefdinir Help In Treating Ear Infection And Yellowish Discharge From Eyes?
Hi, my 2 yo baby has ear infection and the doctor prescribed cefdinir , but I suspect that she also has pink eye , because of the yellowish discharge from her eyes, does cefdinir cure both or she needs other type of medication for the pink eye? Thank you .

Hello,
The systemically given antibiotic will certainly reach the eye but the concentration is unlikely to be enough to clear eye infection (if it is present). So you may need to an eye drop of an antibiotic like Tobramycin or any other capable of clearing eye infection. One drop 2 to 3 times a day in both the eyes for about 5 days should suffice.
