Does Celebrex Interact With Meloxicam?

I have a feeding tube, therefore I cannot take my 2 Celebrex capsules per day. My Dr. was going to write me an RX for Meloxicam which I have taken before and I know it can be crushed. When the pharmacy filled it, it was a bottle of liquid ibuprofen with only 3 doses! ???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Celebrex, Meloxicam and Ibuprofen are very similar drugs and belong to NSAIDs. This means that all work similarly and help with pain and inflammation.

I am sorry for the confusion with the pharmacy. You may use Ibuprofen instead of Celebrex and Meloxicam, just take it after food to help protect your stomach.

I hope this is helpful and answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further assistance is needed.

Regards,
