Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just learned that Celexa has iatrogenic effects in terms of increasing heart problems. My daughter took Celexa for 2 years and did not experience such side effects. She has just resumed taking Celexa due to the onset of a severe panic disorder a few months ago. With Celexa, do heart problems increase with time? Would Paxil have such effects.
Celexa is a brand name of citalopram and it is regarded as a safe drug. It can rarely cause cardiac arrhythmia but it happen only on dosage of fourty Mg per day.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
