Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 year old grandson with an ear infection is on cephalaxia ( prescribed by pediatrician) but when he takes regular dose, he becomes quiet and lethargic acting different than his normal self. He is not himself. Is the Cephalaxin the cause and is there an alternative?
It is much less likely that the symptoms are due to Cephalexin drug. It could be a part of infectious process, which has spread into the brain tissues. You may use Amoxi-Clav drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
