Does Chantix Intake To Quit Smoking Cause Loss In Energy Levels?

I have been taking Chantix to quit smoking, so far it has been great, i haven t smoked in a month. My question is have you heard of anyone getting really tired from taking it. I used to have a ton of energy but for the past 2 weeks or so my energy level has pooped out and I feel tired all the time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I wish to congratulate you for taking this decision. I know it is not easy to quit smoking.

The feeling you describe may be a side effect of this drug or just some withdrawal symptoms. This drug is used together with behavior modification and counseling support to limit such symptoms. I will advise you see your doctor if symptoms persist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
