Does Chlordiazepoxide Usage Have Any Side Effects?
My partner has just been given chlordiazepoxide 10mg by his doctor could you please tell me when he is to take the tablet ie does he take it when he gets up or when he feels like he is withdrawing.
Also is there any side effects?
What would happen if he was to drink on these tablets?
Hello Chlordiazepoxide is an anxiolytics and advised for :anxiety , muscle spasms, insomnia , acute symptoms of alcohol withdrawal . The dosage are adjusted according to diseases of the patient e.g. if for insomnia , usually in the night or whenever require. Side effects are: Physical & psychological dependence ;withdrawal syndrome, impairs psychomotor performance, aggression ( in predisposed individuals esp in combination w/ alcohol), sedation, blood dyscrasias , jaundice, hepatic dysfunction, . RARELY may causes hypoplastic or hemolytic anemia . If some one take ALCOHOL with chlordiazepoxide he may develop AGGRESSION and respiratory depression ( mild degree). Hope this will help you.
