Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I had bacterial infection in eyes so for that doctor prescribed cifran 500 for 5 days ...Its been three days now ,,and there is not pain in eyes ,,but am feeling sligthtly tired, weak, feverish, slight pain in throat and indigestion,All these are mentioned as side effects of Cifran 500, So should i visit some other doctor for this or are these sideeffects common?
Cifran contains ciprofloxacin antibiotic and can cause nausea, diarrhea, allergy and fatigue as side effect. The side effects you have mentioned is caused due to Cifran. I would suggest you to continue the drug for 2 more days. Proton pump inhibitors like Rabeprazole can be taken half an hour before food in order to reduce indigestion due to the antibiotic.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
