Does Cipralex Need To Be Restarted Again For Anxiety Symptoms?
I was taking cipralex 10 mg for three years and I was feeling so good, but I quit taking it a year ago, now I feel that I am having anxiety again, shall I go back to cipralex? I am afraid to be addicted till the rest of my life, btw I am 32 years old and married
Cipralex is escitalopram and the drug belongs to SSRI group of anti-anxiety and anti-depressant drugs. You have responded well to cipralax previously and then discontinued it. Now the anxiety has reappeared.
First of all I would like to tell you that cipralax is not a drug of abuse and you will not become addicted to that drug. So don't think that you have to take the drug till rest of your life.
Second the drug can become effective in your case, but don't take drug without proper consultation of a psychiatrist.
Hello Welcome here. Cipralex is antidepressant and antianxiety drug. It is not habit-forming drug. If you were relieved in your anxiety symptoms by this drug, you can restart it.
You can also practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation. This will keep your mind relaxed.
Also avoid caffeinated substances and alcohol as these precipitate anxiety.
Hope this helps. Thanks
